“High Paradise Farm is a traditional moorland farmhouse located in the North York Moors. Set far from the madding crowd on the edge of of the forestry and with the moors sweeping out behind, it is the perfect place for walking, cycling, riding, or just relaxing.
Perfectly located for the Cleveland Way; it goes right past the house. Good stopping off point after a first days walking from Helmsley. We are 4 miles from the nearest hostelry, but evening meals and packed lunches available for walkers on request.
Or why not come and stay for longer, we are well located for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors and the Dales, surrounded by historic sites and a great location for walking, cycling and riding, or just for relaxing.
We have five self catered rooms, which are all ensuite, and equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, free wifi, and flat screens TV’s. All rooms boast traditional farmhouse beams, as well as original features. All rooms welcome children and well behaved dogs. Dogs are charged £5 per night per dog.
When booking your room you are booking them as self catered. All rooms have little kitchenettes enabling basic cooking. You can book a breakfast hamper to be put into your room, and if you are walking we will happily provide a hot cooked evening meal. We also have a full drinks licence so you are able to purchase wine and beer onsite. All major cards are accepted. We are also happy to provide packed lunches.
Semi wild camping is available for walkers March until the end of October. Hot and cold water, packed lunches and drying facilities are all available within the tearoom, which you are able to access during the evening. A perfect place to stop off after your first days walking on the Cleveland Way, and right on the route.
After a gap of 15 years, in april 2015 we re-opened High Paradise Tea Room.
Due to our wonderful out of the way location, we are only accessible by foot, bike or horse, and yet just 3/4 mile from the car park at the top of Sneck Yate, or 4 miles from the visitor centre at the top of Sutton Bank.
In wild weather we have a cosy room with a log burning stove to warm you through again before facing the elements, and for those who remember my grandmas scones: she trained me well, you won’t find bigger scones in Yorkshire!”
