“Brixton Caravan & Camping Park is a perfect base for exploring the area. It is close to the spectacular South Hams coast, the rugged wilderness of Dartmoor, miles of unspoilt beautiful countryside, lots of attractions, and the waterfront city of Plymouth.
The site is about five miles from Plymouth City Centre, situated on the A379 Plymouth to Kingsbridge road. It is ideally located for touring the Westcountry, and is a sheltered parkland site within only two minutes walk of the village of Brixton.
The site has toilet and shower blocks with electric shaver points. Hot and cold water is always available and electrical hook-ups can be provided.
The village has all the usual countryside amenities including a village church, garage, public house, restaurant and fish and chip shop, including several other small shops where local fresh produce can be purchased.
Services – There is a regular bus service passing through the village. A public telephone is located near the church. Nearest train station is Plymouth.”

“Established as a pub in the late 1700s, The Foxhound Inn has been offering a warm welcome and friendly hospitality to locals and visitors alike, ever since. It sits beside the A379 Plymouth to Kingsbridge road, about 3 miles east of Plymouth. The interior is delightfully comfortable and cosy with traditional features such as exposed beams and open fires.
We provide only the best quality food, locally sourced where possible, all freshly cooked on the premises.
We source our meat as locally as possible and our Pork is supplied by The Real Pig Company (distance 1 mile) Kitley Estate, Yealmpton. We believe that the Foxhound Inn is one of the BEST establishments for locally sourced food with regards to FOOD MILES in the area!

Our public bar is a very friendly place with old photographs of Brixton in years gone by in our ‘Memory Corner’ featured on the walls for all to see. We are proud to announce that the Foxhound Inn has been voted Plymouth CAMRA Country Pub of the Year for the third consecutive year, for 2013, together with taking the overall title for Pub of the Year 2012.
Steve takes great pride in maintaining his ales in prime condition, sales have soared since he arrived. There are 5 rotating real ales, including ales from our local breweries such as Summerskills Brewery, and South Hams Brewery and old favourites such as Otter Amber and Courage Best. We also have a Guest Cider or Perry available on tap which is constantly changing.”
