Located at the western edge of the historic Hadrian’s Wall, Bowness is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Solway coast and is only forty minutes drive from the Lake District and twenty minutes from Carlisle. The area is rich in wildlife and in particular birds – the RSPB Campfield Marsh centre is very close to us.  We are pleased to welcome walkers and cyclists and can provide secure storage for bicycles and packed lunches if required. We even have our own charging point for electric vehicles, and a private hire minibus available to book for guest transfers to/from Carlisle and beyond.
We offer five en-suite guest and an award winning breakfast menu.  We are happy to welcome pets and can provide bedding and treats for a small additional charge. There is also a licensed tea room open daily from Easter to the end of September.”
Camping:
“Fully licensed and equipped camp site for tents only.  No gazebos, awnings or toilet tents.  Eight pitches. Very quiet – noise curfew in place 22:00 to 07:30.
Check in 14:00 to 18:00.
Purpose built shower and toilet facilities with hot water included, heated bathrooms with hairdrier.
Electric hook ups available at £3 per night.
Washing up facilities.
Washing machine available at extra charge, with outdoor drier.
Outdoor stand pipe and dog wash area.
Sorry, no camp fires, barbecues or open flames on camping area.
Tents must be pitched at least 5 metres apart.
Free car parking for maximum one car per tent.  Additional cars @ £10 per night Grassed areas are ‘car-free’.  No vehicles permitted on grassed areas.”
