“The Sportsman’s Inn has been providing accommodation for over 200 years. Our rooms each have their own private facilities with views overlooking the river Dee. We have two double rooms and two twin rooms available and provide single occupancy when available. Our quiet location means that you wake from a good nights sleep to unspoilt views and the sound of birdsong, this along with a hearty Sportsman’s breakfast provides a perfect start to the day.
Whilst we are not pet unfriendly (we have two working dogs of our own) we regret that pets are not allowed in The Sportsman’s Inn.
With meat from an award winning butcher, fresh vegetables from our local green grocer, free range eggs from a nearby farm, our aim is to serve wholesome food, locally sourced and freshly prepared. We have a varied menu including homemade soup, sandwiches, snacks and a children’s section. steak and ale pie, shepherds pie made with local lamb, Whitby whole tail scampi, along with vegetable chilli and sweet potato and  spinach curry are just a taste of what’s on offer.
Our bar stocks a range of hand pulled cask ales (range may be limited at quiet periods) choosing from the ever increasing number of micro breweries in and around the local area. The Inn has received acclaim from CAMRA for its services to the beer drinker and has been featured in various publications, so whatever beers are on offer you can be sure of a good pint.”
