The Broads Books and Maps
The Broads comprises a network of mostly navigable rivers and lakes in the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk. It covers an area of 117 square miles, and around 120 miles of navigable waterways. There are seven rivers and 63 broads, mostly less than 4 metres (13 ft) deep. The Angles Way, Weavers’ Way and Wherryman’s Way are all within The Broads.
The Broads is not a National Park; rather, it is a special area with a level of protection equivalent to a national park, constituted by the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads Act 1988. The Broads Authority, a special statutory authority responsible for managing the area, became operational in 1989.
Below, RambleFest displays The Broads guidebooks and maps, and provides the facility for buying them online.

As well as The Broads guidebooks on rambling, we include books on geology, local interest, natural history and many other books of interest to those visiting The Broads. We welcome suggestions for inclusion.
The Broads Maps
We include the one Ordnance Survey `Explorer’ maps (the best that are commercially available) which covers The Broads. We show it in standard quality, although the tougher all-weather type is also available. Some of the guidebooks include maps. We also include the excellent The Broads A-Z Adventure Atlas, which is essentially the OS map in book form, plus an index and info on locations.
